In 2016, at age 59, I had the "cabbage" surgery you're facing.
Mine was triple, 3x CABG, but that detail wasn't known until I was open on the table. My recovery was called quick, most likely because it was my exercise walks that made me get checked out and find the blockage. I had been routinely walking 3 to 7 miles every day. What I mean by quick is my surgery was on Thanksgiving Day, and I believe I was home by the end of Pearl Harbor Day. I followed my care team's restrictions for a couple of months, but I was back to full activity, including mildly competitive outdoor games, by Halloween. I think that was the first year I frizzed up my hair and was "Bob Ross" for the celebrations. By 2019 I was in even better shape than before.
